CMSW Spanish teacher, Bill Gilness, was one of five finalists nominated for the prestigious Teacher of the Year award this year. This high honor recognizes him for advancing innovation and excellence in education by the District 112 Foundation. This year’s winner was Nina Kirkman, a 7th grade science teacher at PRMS. As a finalist, Bill will receive $500 for use in his classroom. Previous years’ nominees from CMSW include Jessica Kamann, Annie Lund, Jim Vangerud, George Peoples and Nicole Pelowski. Previous years’ winners from CMSW include Michele Schnaare, Eric Songer, and Bob Downs.
