Join Us for Our Veterans Day Ceremony on Nov 12 at 8:40am

Our Veterans Day Celebration on Monday Nov. 12th at 8:40 am will start outside at the flagpole. (Temperatures are predicted to be in the teens so bundle-up!)  We will begin with the flag-raising, an Honor Guard 21-gun salute and taps. Following that, there will be a ceremony in the Large Gym with student and guest speakers, honored guest introductions, as well as band, choir and orchestra performances. Volunteer Opportunity for the 6th gr. Ellis Island Experience

Attention 6th grade families. On January 25, 2019 Pioneer Ridge Middle School will be transformed into Ellis Island. On that day middle school students from West and throughout District 112 will travel to Ellis Island and experience the challenges of entering through the busiest immigration center of the United States at the turn of the century. To make this simulation a great learning experience we need around 200 volunteers. As a volunteer your commitment on that day would be from about 8:30am – 11:40am. School Resource Officers are Here Regularly

We are excited to share that our district is partnering with our Chaska Police Department to increase the School Resource Officer (SRO) time to include middle schools. Police officers Trent Wurtz and Mike Kleber will be sharing time in the afternoons between our three middle schools. Learners and families can expect to see one of them at CMSW every third afternoon. The main purpose of their time at the middle schools is to be a police presence assisting in education, counseling, school safety, and investigations.
